Uniting for Ocean Sustainability at the 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference

As part of the Ocean Decade Week (April 8th), the 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference, hosted by Spain and co-organized with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, will take place from the 10th to the 12th of April in Barcelona. Within the framework of this event, TRIDENT project will be participating with the presentation of a poster, introducing the objective, focus and priorities of the project, as well as the technologies that will be developed.

This Conference will include opportunities for the presentation of innovative and transformative science solutions, in the context of a broader mandate of showcasing initiatives and generating dialogue across the whole science-policy-society interface. It will provide a global forum for governments, leaders, maritime sectors, philanthropy, universities, private sector, NGOs and more, to meet and catalyse new partnerships and collaborations. It will also cover the full range of Ocean Decade Challenges including some critical issues such as climate change, food security, sustainable management of biodiversity, sustainable ocean economy, pollution, and natural hazards.

Over three days, the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference will create a new framework to strengthen the sustainable management of the ocean and boost science-based innovation, targeting all areas, global and locally.
